Billings Catholic Schools presents the BCS Awards of Excellence annually to worthy recipients from our Catholic school community. The awards given may include:
- Outstanding Philanthropist
- Outstanding Business Sponsor or Community Partner
- Outstanding Alumnus
- Outstanding Young Alumnus
- Outstanding Support Staff
- Volunteer of the Year
- Saint Francis Catholic PK-8 Educator of the Year
- Billings Central Catholic High School Educator of the Year
- BCS Legacy Award
Recipients are nominated through the BCS website nomination form by interested parties throughout the school and Catholic community. Award winners are chosen by selection committees comprised of members of the BCS Catholic community including BCS administration, alumni, staff members, former staff members, and BCS board and BCS Foundation board members.
The BCS Legacy Award is set apart from the annual Awards of Excellence, and a recipient may or may not be selected in any given year. The BCS Legacy Award is given to a person or group who through their actions have created a legacy that will benefit the Billings Catholic Schools for years to come. The BCS Legacy Award may be given to a philanthropist, a volunteer, an educator, an employee, an alumnus, or any combination of those. The recipient will be a person whose life has been dedicated to fostering Catholic education and ensuring its future in Billings. The BCS Legacy Award celebrates a person who has positively impacted the lives of countless students and families through many years of service to Billings Catholic Schools, thereby creating a legacy that will continue to positively impact future generations of Catholic school students.
A nomination for the BCS Legacy Award can be put forth by submitting a letter outlining the accomplishments of the candidate. The nomination should be accompanied by written letters of support from various members of the BCS and Billings Catholic community, who can accurately and honestly describe the lifelong impact the nominee has had on Billings Catholic Schools.
